Based on the ES-137 Classic, the Gibson ES-137 Custom Electric Guitar is the first Gibson archtop to employ a mahogany center block for reduced feedback and greater sustain. Featuring a varitone switch for greater tonal options the ES137 is a classic in the making.
Gibson has once again gone back to it’s history books to review the ES137 and thrown together some classic cuts such as the pickups, round neck profile for example. The result is a real beauty - something to treasure at a reasonable price (well reasonable for whats on offer here).
The 57 pickups together with the varitone add great versatility - and the maple body creates a wonderfull resonance (enhanced by the center block). The 137 seems fit for a variety of musical styles and whilst it’ll will never be for shredders the 137 covers jazz, blues to rock and country with ease -
