Epiphone Revolution Casino Electric Guitar
While the Beatles underwent various transitions with different guitar manufacturers including Rickenbacker and Gretsch – John Lennon was perhaps best known (and most often photographed) with his Epiphone.
Epiphone have produced 2 Limited Edition guitars (less than 2000 produced) in memory of Lennon (Both Casinos). This Casino is a reproduction of Lennons casino that he had sanded down in the late 60s
The guitar features 2 Gibson P90’s, Nickel hardware. The body is maple and the set neck mahogany.
Gibson have spent a fair time perfecting the authenticity of the guitar from using the original specs from the Kalamazoo factory, including body and neck shape, the hardware has an authentic feel too what with vintage style P90’s, Gibson stamped hardware, the guitar features Lennon’s original serial number. Looks wise if its vintage that floats your boat you’ll love this guitar.
The guitars layout is as you’d expect with two P90 pickups (one bridge one neck) a three way pickup selector switch and two volume two tone controls.
With beautiful mellow tones, as you’d expect from a hollowbody, the revolution doesn’t disappoint, with the right amp a lovely organic growl can be produced but given the price tag and the limited numbers of the instrument we cant help feeling that many of these will end up behind glass rather with collectors than in the hardened players.
Ultimately if your into your vintage guitars or if you’re a Beatles enthusiast the Revolution has lots to recommend.
